Digital transformation companies still need access to sophisticated, complex and costly “last mile” data to unleash competitive advantages and differentiation.

“Inability to experiment quickly, legacy widespread systems inability to work across silos and poor collaboration between units are the most common stoppers companies face when undergoing digital transformation projects”

KEY FEATURES

  • Companies with digital transformation capabilities in place:
    • Data products: integration, storage, analytics, visualization
    • Processes: governance, quality, security

    • People: steward, analyst, scientist
  • Multiple information systems, siloed and/or partially integrated
  • Legacy “black-box” systems, complex and expensive to update

SOLUTION

SMOOTHLY RETRIEVE BUSINESS AND TECHNICAL METRICS
FOR YOUR APPLICATIONS WITHOUT ANY CODING OR HASSLE

DATUMIZE DATA COLLECTOR (DDC)

DDC is a multi-platform and lightweight middleware used to capture highly valuable operational data that is trapped inside machines, devices and appliances from complex, often transient and/or legacy data sources. This kind of data ends up being mostly unexplored as there are no easy and convenient methods of access.

USE CASES

  • Motion Intelligence: technical data from ubiquitous Wi-Fi access points can be converted into motion events (eg position, route, distance), providing productivity/ customer insights
  • Real Demand/Lost Sales: ERP/CRM black-box systems store committed transactions (eg bookings, orders) but don’t store other ephemeral transactions (eg product searches, inquiries)
  • Enriching AI Models: artificial intelligence models work better with richer and more expressive data (eg ephemeral transactions)

BENEFITS

01

REDUCED TIME TO MARKET

  • Business applications tend to have few analytical metrics. When business owners want applications to be instrumented with KPIs, requests tend to be ignored or take ages to be completed.
  • Datumize network sniffing allows fast application instrumentation for immediate reaction and reduced time to market.

02

AVOID VENDOR/DEVELOPMENT BURDENS

  • You might face some resistance and priority conflicts from the application vendor or internal developer to instrument the application with required KPIs.
  • By working at network traffic level, Datumize skips the burdens imposed by vendors and development teams that are reluctant to open up the application KPIs.

03

LOWER COST TO OBTAIN KPI’S

  • Instrumenting applications usually means a data extraction (ETL) or a development (code changes) project to be executed.
  • Datumize retrieves KPIs based on configuration that can be easily changed anytime, a significant cost reduction compared to traditional KPIs extraction projects.

04

NO ADDED LATENCY

  • Instrumenting an application, by definition, means adding some code to capture and share data. The additional code increases the latency of instrumented operations, which could be an issue for critical systems.
  • Datumize non-intrusive data capture happens outside the application, so there is a zero latency increase.

CLIENT STORIES

REAL DEMAND FOR AIRLINES

Logo_Vueling

Vueling Airlines is a Spanish low-cost carrier, based in Barcelona. The company is owned by IAG. It is the largest airline within Spanish territory in number of destinations and by fleet size, and the second by number of passengers transported within Spanish territory.

Vueling commitment to innovation translates into a full-time team devoted to Data and Analytics (data scientists, business intelligence experts, statisticians, etc.). For this department, the possibility to access all data sources, very efficiently, and capture all the data generated by Vueling systems, was key to the success of its Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics programs. Thanks to Datumize, Vueling has been able to extract the full data of its B2B customers' interactions with the booking platform, and get advanced insights into funnel quality and performance; the high quality data provided by Datumize has helped Vueling to improve the visibility on the real demand and detect new business opportunities.

Datumize technology was able to capture Vueling B2B Web Services data, leveraging its network sniffing and deep packet inspection for HTTP Web Services capabilities in a non-intrusive way, processing more than 70M search transactions per day.

IMPROVING CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE BASED ON GUEST MOTION INSIGHTS

Grupo Piñero is one of the leading European hotel chains, with family hotels and resorts in Spain and the Caribbean. Grupo Piñero has a total of 27 hotels an 13.000 rooms, under different brands, and delivers other travel-related services in tour operation, bed bank and incoming, among others.

As part of a forward-looking vision for exceptional guest experience and strong service differentiation, Grupo Piñero was looking for innovative solutions to gather more detailed, richer information about the experience and the behavior of their guests during their stay. The leadership teams understands that guests’ desires and needs are evolving at a fast pace nowadays.

Datumize technology was a perfect solution to gather guest data based on on-site movements, leveraging existing Wi-Fi access points and enriching the data on-the-edge with other sources such as PMS and PoS. The resulting data is shared as metrics and guest behavior insights, really helpful to improve guests’ service, reduce operational costs and increase the knowledge of guests’ habits.

MOBILITY DATA FROM LEGACY WI-FI

FMlogistic-

FM Logistic is a French company that offers warehousing, handling, transport and distribution services. It employs more than 26,200 people and is present in 14 countries. FM Logistic is recognized internationally as one of the most experienced logistics service companies in the consumer goods logistics.

In 2018, FM Logistic Innovation department main challenge was to find a cost-efficient technology to leverage previously neglected data and to transform it into valuable insights, aimed at improving operational efficiency and business decision making. After testing several technologies based on the installation of new sensors or the carrying out of modifications in its infrastructure, FM Logistic selected Datumize to launch a pilot project in France.

Datumize technology was capable to generate highly valuable mobility information by capturing the data generated by existing Wi-Fi technologies, without the need to invest in extra devices or infrastructure, and combining it with WMS data and advanced AI algorithms for enrichment. The success of the pilot project allowed Datumize to start the development of a large-scale project in which the solution was replicated in warehouses in other regions.

The insights provided by Datumize are used by FM Logistic on-site managers and headquarters to streamline operations and improve their strategic KPIs.
